This beautiful ‘tetsubin’ teapot takes you back to a time and place where tea making was an art form. The design was developed in Japan in the 17th century, but tea connoisseurs still swear by it – and for good reason. It represents a meeting of beauty and practicality that could only have come from Japan. After all, it’s a country that takes its tea very seriously.

Like the traditional design, it’s made of sturdy cast iron with an enamelled interior, which offers impressive heat retention. This means your tea stays at an enjoyably drinkable temperature for longer. And as a modern touch, it has a stainless steel tea infuser, which makes it easy to brew your favourite loose tea leaves, green tea or teabags.

It might just be the perfect realisation of a time-honoured classic. With its Lime Green exterior, it makes a stunning addition to your own kitchen. Or why not give it as a gift to someone who enjoys and appreciates the craft of tea making?

  • This sturdy Lime Green teapot is based on the traditional Japanese 'tetsubin' design, prized for its beauty and heat retention capabilities
  • Made of cast iron with a tough enamel interior. This time-honoured design keeps your tea warm for longer, without affecting its flavour
  • Its stainless steel tea infuser extracts rich flavours from loose teas, green teas and teabags. It's removable for easy cleaning
  • It's practical and beautiful, and makes a great display piece in your kitchen when not in use. Or why not gift it to a tea lover?
The teapot has a 300ml capacity.

  • First-time use and cleaning instructions.
  • 1. Before using your new cast iron teapot, rinse with boiling water 3-4 times. Dry the teapot completely both inside and out with a dry towel.
    2. When finished brewing in the teapot, simply wipe the teapot with a dry towel, both inside and out. It is best to do this while the pot is still warm.
    3. Do not place the teapot in the dishwasher or use soap or detergent to clean the teapot.
    4. To continue the ultimate tea experience with your new teapot, you will want to check again to make sure the teapot is completely dry. If not completely dry, rust may form. If the teapot happens to rust, use fine steel wool to remove dust, then rinse and dry thoroughly

    Brewing Tea
    1. Preheat the teapot by pouring boiling water into the pot, swirl, and then discard the water.
    2. Place tea leaves into a stainless steel strainer. Pour boiling water over the leaves, allowing for a little extra room at the top.
    3. Infuse for the desired amount of time. Hint: On your first infusion, follow the tea supplier's recommendations, then adjust to taste.
Note: Some teas will need to be removed from the teapot after brewing, while others may remain inside. Also depending on tea, you may infuse multiple times.
  • Important 1. Avoid contact with oil and salt 2. Tea residue will build up over time. This is a natural mineral layer that is not harmful in any way. In Japan, it is considered to be good for your health and helps prevent rust from forming. 3. Cast iron teapots are not recommended for stove use. If you decide to use it on a stovetop, please take great care! Do not allow the teapot to boil dry. This will damage the enamel
